I assume you mean the images in the tabs widget? I see in the source code that the base image is 300 pixels in size that get's stretched to double the size, which makes them very blurry indeed.

I don't know exactly how the tab widget works (as default the theme does not use it) but when you add the image can you click on the image and open the settings of it? In there you can select the size to 'full size', which will fix this issue.
