Creating a child theme

    Hi. I'm using Physio QT and would like to create a child theme to make some modifications. I set up a child theme and activated it, however many elements of the base theme disappear. It still looks relatively like Physio out of the box, but everything I did in the theme customizer seems to be ignored.

    Thanks!

    Hi James,

    Unfortunately the theme customizer settings do not get cloned to the child theme, this is still a limitation of the WordPress CMS.

    The best way to get all the customizer settings in to the child theme is by following these steps:

    1. Activate the base theme again
    2. Install and activate the Customizer Export/Import plugin
    3. Go to Appearance -> Customizer -> Import/Export
    4. Download the export file
    5. Activate the child theme
    6. Go to Appearance -> Customizer -> Import/Export
    7. Import the downloaded child theme

    You can remove the plugin if you want after you've imported the file.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Barry
