You can remove the "read more" text by deleting the text from the "QT: Featured Page" widget.
The excerpt texts can be deleted if you edit the specific featured page. At the bottom of each page you will find the "Excerpt" textarea (if not please click the article link below to make this textarea visible).
Remove all texts from the Excerpt textarea and then add 1 empty space by pressing the spacebar
