I found and read your instructions for how to update the landscaper theme. I must admit I am really worried to do it by switching and deleting themes. My fear is that I will lose all my settings in customization. Because if I delete them theme altogether, how is it possible that the settings will still be there when I have activated the new theme? Where will they have been saved?

Your instructions page does not address this or reassure the reader about this at all. I really wish you would. Talk about the "what if's" or what is typical. And what to do if something goes wrong.

Is it even possible to make this something we can upload from the dashboard like almost all the other themes?  I do always backup with Updraft. But even restoring with that isn't perfect and it is time consuming as well.

Can you say anything to help me feel more confident about updating your Landscaper theme?

    Hi Celeste,

Content and customization settings are saved into the database of your server and not inside the theme package so it should not give any issues when you only change themes. Unfortunately with software (WordPress) there is no guarantee so it's recommend to create backup of the website with a backup plugin.

If you want a more smooth updating experience from the dashboard I recommend to install the Envato Market plugin. After installing the plugin you will notice a new tab inside the admin menu where you can to connect your website with the Envato API with a API key.

Connecting with the Envato API and after it's configured you can update the theme with a single click from your WordPress dasboard. Here you will find a step by step guide how to configure that plugin.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Best regards,
    Barry
