Hi. I've made my new installation with The Landscape theme live and I'm trying to optimize my site right now.
I've run the site through a number of web page graders. It's very slow. I know much of this is based on my hosting service, but one thing I keep seeing is a recommendation to eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content.
Is there a plugin you could recommend that would achieve this without interfering with the theme coding? I'm loath to install anything that's not going to play nice with the theme. Thanks!
Nice. I've put a few other performance plugins into the site but I like this one as well.
It's asking me to enter my 'above-the-fold' CSS in order to run that option. I'm not sure where to find this information. I added screencaps of the input field in the plugin and the FAQ relating to that field. Does it look like something I need to get into?
The CSS added to this option will be added to the head of the document. For example if you have inline styles at the bottom of your page you can copy/paste them in to this textarea and they will be added to the top of the file.
But you can skip this as all styles are already added to the head of the document if you have enabled the "Optimize CSS Code" option.
Okay. It really threw things out of whack, and I'm using other plugins like W3Optimize to clean up some other things. I think I'm going to disable the Autoptimize plugin. It really threw things out for me.
There are a lot of optimizing plugins out there, but there is not really a straight path to follow to optimize the website. For each of these plugins it will take some time to check the results of every setting and try to optimize the best out of it.
It could also be possible that when you already have installed other optimizing plugins these plugins will create issues because they're all will try to do the same.
Okay, I will keep digging around and see what I can come up with. Other than that, really loving the theme. Just made the site live on Monday and everyone is really digging it. Thanks again

Hi there,
You can install the Autoptimize plugin to score better at this point. It's a very easy plugin to configure via Settings -> Autoptimize.
If you want some in-depth information please see this article.

Cool.
After adding some plugins - I think it was the Autoptimize one - some of my formatting has become wonky on the pages. Is this common?
This is a common issue with these kind of plugins (not only with Autoptimize).
If the issue is that bad you can exclude the stylesheet file name at the "Exclude CSS from Autoptimize" option.
