The grid on the homepage is a custom build skin for the essential grid and is called 'Gallery Homepage'. The custom skins need to be imported by importing the included essential grid file, which can be found in the 'demo-files' folder in the theme folder.
Please follow step 1.4 of the documentation to import the included essential grid file.
After importing you can select the custom skin for your grid via Ess. Grid -> Edit Grid -> Skin -> Select skin from the thumbnail summary view.
You're on the right track Please set the 'Navigation' selected field to 'The Landscaper Home' and select the 'The Landscaper Home' from the thumbnail summary.
The skin is probably located on the last page of the thumbnail summary, you can use the pagination to go to the last page. Please see the attached image.
