When I try to install the plugins required for the theme to work I get a http:// 500 error request, but disabling the plugins folder helped bring me back to the dashboard. Please help!

    Hi Phil,

500 errors are server related errors. Mostly this common issue will be caused due exceeding your PHP_memory limit or wrong folder/file permission.

If you are running the theme on a fresh WordPress install or you're sure the file/folder permissions are not changed in the WordPress folder on your server then it is probably a PHP_memory issue. Please follow these steps

If you're not familiar with FTP you can ask your hosting provider to increase the PHP memory (increasing won't cost anything).

If the error is still there after following above steps please take a look in your error log of your server (you will find the error log in your cPanel or Plesk account of your hosting) that will tell the exact description which is causing the issue.

Edit: Please also make sure there are no other additional plugins (for example from a previous theme) activated.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask

    Best regards,
    Barry
